4 Strains You’ve Got to Try From Distinkt Cannabis

What an opportunity! 🌿🤩

Last week the BudSense team had the privilege of touring the Calgary, Alberta Distinkt Cannabis Ltd. cultivator facility and meet with Mark Corrigan, the founder of Distinkt.

During our time at Distinkt Cannabis, we learned about Distinkt’s growing techniques, operations and what it takes to get cannabis products on the shelves of cannabis retail stores. We also got to hear from the founder himself about how he describes his cultivars.

We were wowed by the entire experience and were inspired to build some menus that showcased some of the cultivation we saw that day. Here are four great strains featured on BudSense''s menus.

  1. Peanut Butter Breath

We are excited to pass along that Distinkt CannabisPeanut Butter Breath will be available in Alberta, Canada in a couple of weeks. The Distinkt Cannabis team found this bud in the legacy market and brought it into the legal market in 2021. Mark says, when they pheno-hunted, they got really lucky with this strain. Peanut Butter consistently comes out at 26% THC and about 4% terpenes.

It’s a heavy hitter Indica which makes it a great nighttime smoke. Mark advises consumers not to have it prior to 7 pm. 😂

THC: 26%

Terpenes: Limonene, Farnesene, Trans-Caryophyllene

Total Terpenes: 4%

Flavor: Nutty 🥜 and earthy 🌎

Aroma: Smooth creamy gas ⛽️

2. Grape Mountain

The Distinkt Cannabis’ Grape Mountain, described by Mark is a beautiful smoke and a wonderful hybrid. This strain has a 21 day cure and will be available as a solvent, Pre-Roll and dried Flower. The bud is harvested with bright orange pistils, a mix of green, purple and a hint of pink calyxes.

When the BudSense team walked into this cultivar room, the strain gave off strong sweet orange aromas with hints of gas. Mark says Grape Mountain makes for a great daytime smoke as it both relaxes and uplifts you. This strain is a great choice for social occasions.

THC: 22%

Terpenes: Limonene, Farnesene, Beta-Myrcene

Total Terpenes: 2.6%

3. Guava Cooler

Distinkt Cannabis was born in Nelson, British Columbia. The BC bud is derived from Guava and Kush Mints, which makes it a vibrant, vigorous grow.

When the BudSense team walked into this strains grow room, we were welcomed by tropical fruit and pepper aromas. Mark says when ready, Guava Cooler is hung to dry for 8-12 days in a cool, controlled environment. Once the drying process is complete, the Distinkt team bucks, trims and cures the bud for the next 21 days. This strain is a hard-hitting Indica dominant strain.

THC: 27%

Terpenes: Trans-Caryophyllene, Limonene, Beta-Myrcene

Total Terpenes: 2.4%

4. Cactus Breath

Distinkt Cannabis Cactus Breath was Distinkts’ first cultivar that they brought to market. Mark told us he took these cuts himself from a bunker in Nelson, British Columbia. Mark says the Distinkt team loves the Cactus Breath cultivar as it holds a special place in their hearts.

Cactus Breath is a cheesy, gas strain that expresses itself with citrus notes. It is a strong and heady smoke which makes for a great day-ender.

CBG: 4%

Terpenes: Trans-Caryophyllene, Limonene, and Terpinolene
